Course description

This course covers general report writing and letter writing skills. You will learn about the structure and layout of reports and letters as well as understand the development steps you will use to write a report or letter. The course also covers how to use the correct tone in report and letter writing as well as identifying common grammar, spelling and punctuation errors and finally takes a look at how to proofread your writing effectively.


Delegates are very welcome to bring their work laptops, if that is the way you'd normally work. But if you do please make sure that you put an Out Of Office entry on your Outlook and sign OUT of Skype so that you don't get disturbed during the training

Learning outcomes

By the end of this course you will be able to:

  • clarify the purpose of your letter or report

  • identify the information that should be included in the letter or report

  • write the letter or report in plain language

  • identify a suitable layout that ensures that the letter or report is easy to read and that the information contained is readily accessible to the reader
