Writing for the Web training – standards and conventions for writing online.
Staff with responsibility for content on the ESCC Website (internet) and intranet – you will become a web author for your department.

By the end of this course delegates will be able to:
understand the differences in writing for print and screen
consider the needs of busy online readers and what they need to know
learn how to write effective headlines and summary links
be able to break down content visually on a screen
be able to improve readability through design, layout and typography
write clearly and avoid bureaucratic jargon
know how to use hyper linking to avoid lengthy pages
encourage reader feedback and interaction
be able to repurpose content from other sources and avoiding downloadable documents
consider aspects of accessibility
understand the importance of protecting the corporate brand; discuss tone of voice and verbal branding issues
be able to maintain web communication standards and quality control
Parking around St. Mary's House is scarce due to limited parking.
Corporate Training offer a selection of teas/coffees, hot chocolate and biscuits. There is no canteen in the building, but a sandwich lady calls at 10:45 am each day, when delegates can purchase lunch.
