Following government advice, ESCC have made the decision to postpone or cancel some face to face training. This decision has been made in light of the national concerns about the spread of the coronavirus (COVID - 19). Please see individual courses for more information.
Participants on this course will gain knowledge about challenging behaviours.Challenging behaviour used to be described as ‘problem behaviour’ or ‘difficult behaviour’ or ‘socially unacceptable behaviour’.
But in recent years, the term challenging behaviour reflects the fact that some of the behaviours are a challenge to professionals, teachers, carers and parents.
This course offers you opportunity to consider different behaviours and strategies that can be used.
By the end of this course participants will have gained knowledge to:
Appreciate how feelings drive behaviour and to recognise early warning signs
Understand low to high level behaviours and how to respond appropriately
To be able to use the ABC model of behaviour
Building positive attachments through an understanding of how behaviour is a form of communication
